White Christmas

I don't seem to have pitched the Movie Quotes Quiz very well. I am obviously spending too much time watching the same obscure films over and over again. I will try to do better next year.

If you want photos of snow, have a look at the latest set from the Big Picture. Breathtaking.

And if you would like to see Scotland's polar bear, Mercedes, enjoying more of the same, look here. There's a movie clip here. If you want to hear the sound of a polar bear moving across deep snow, turn up the volume. It's not a sound you'll hear very often.

And here is your correspondent enjoying the snow, more than a few years ago.

Happy Christmas!!!

Happy Christmas. Love the big picture, you always find such great links to view. Also love the plastic mac!!! I remember them and how uncomfortable they were.

Happy Christmas to you. Great photo - who is who?

I'm the little round one on the right, Janet. The tall gangly one is my big brother. The snowman probably had a name because my mother always named snowmen, but I don't remember it :)

Curious minds - where was the picture taken? And did your brother have bare knees?? Brr. You look very ho ho ho.

Rescanning the movie quiz - I'll look out for the Englishman in New York. I loved the White Mischief film and book.

The photo was taken somewhere in the south of England, Janet. A back garden in Shortlands, near Bromley. And my brother was probably wearing grey flannel shorts as boys always did then. I suppose it was meant to toughen them up. I was usually pretty ho ho ho, as long as I was fed at frequent intervals.

That's a great picture! Merry belated Christmas (and a happy incipient New Year). I'm sorry not to have been any help with the movie quiz -- turns out I'm REALLY bad at that sort of thing :)
