They're from the Knitter's Book of Yarn. I love the snails. I keep thinking they would be cute round the hem of a child's cardigan but a little girl might not like snails. Then again she might.

I'm not that far into the Knitters Book of Yarn, .... perhaps I'll be up for mittens again when I get there.
But why not on an adult's cardigan? They're subtle enough to be a secret joke that many folks wouldn't get. Why do kids get all the fun?
My six year old girl said they would be fine if they were pink snails.....
And I am totally smitten with these mittens because of the cuffs. Something about the bi-coloredness of them just sings to me.
Yup, I immediately fell in smit with those mittens upon seeing them. I'm trying to hold off, but I know that my girls at least would love snails on their mittens :)
